LETTER FROM DR. MORETTA

January 9, 2014

Dear Logos Family & Friends:

On behalf of the entire Logos Board of Trustees, we thank you for your continued support and interest in the mission of The Logos Institute.  We wish you and yours a Happy New Year as you grow by Grace and Knowledge into Christ.
Logos has evolved over the past five years and experienced, as does all organizations, both successes and failures.  This new year of 2014 will be a year of change for Logos.  We ask for your continued prayers and support.
After five years of serving as Dean of The Logos Institute, Dr. John David Geib has resigned his title to pursue his efforts in preserving his teaching in print by writing and publishing.  This has vacated the position of Dean.  Dr. Geib will remain as Master Teacher of the Logos Institute and continue to teach for Logos as time and opportunities allow in light of his new endeavors.  The result of this change in Deanship as well as our years of experience will create new opportunities and challenges for The Logos Institute.  First and foremost, we will be searching for a qualified educator interested in our mission of Christological teaching.
A second issue is to address the wish of several Board members to step down from their volunteer service.  Therefore, the Board will have many new faces in the upcoming year.
A third issue is financial support.  It is obvious, in light of our experience, that our fee-for-service model cannot be supported by individuals studying or churches buying educational programs alone.  Greater effort in benevolent sponsorship needs to be made if Logos is to remain viable in its mission.  To this end we must develop new ways of funding for teachers, faculty development and new forms of programming that meet individual and organizational needs.
In growing forward, The Logos Institute will need your prayers and support.  Many thanks in advance to those who remain in direct service to the Board and in support of Logos Institute.  A special thanks to
Dr. Geib for all his efforts.  I welcome new ideas and voices in future service.
As acting President, I pledge continued updates and perseverance in financial and organizational matters as we continue the wonder that is Logos.
Sincerely,

Daniel Moretta
President, The Logos Institute

Ongoing Purpose of the Logos Institute

The Logos Institute is inspired in part by Paul’s educational work in Ephesus. “Paul took the disciples with him and had discussions daily in the lecture hall of Tyrannus. This went on for two years, so that all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia heard the Word of The Lord” (Acts 19:10). As Paul did in 1st century Ephesus, The Logos Institute continues in the 21st century to foster relationships and cooperation between faculty, churches and organizations. We hope to continue as a unifying educational center from which many people in our area and beyond can hear, understand and grow deeply into the message of Jesus Christ. Please contact us if you sense that we can work together to achieve common goals.

Agape,
Dr. John David Geib

Logos Institute Course Offerings

The Logos Institute offers courses that can be tailored to the needs and distinctives of churches and groups along the denominational spectrum. We work with rather than exclude distinctive understandings of core Christian faith. In addition to the offered courses, individuals who can assemble 20 or more people can petition to have a course on any Biblical book, branch of Theology or topic. There is no maximum number of students allowed to register for a course. Numbers at the end of the courses are the suggested number of sessions required to do justice to the course content.
